Pursat Province : Phnom Phong
Phnom Phong is located in Pramoy commune, Veal Veng district, Pursat province, 119 kilometers from the provincial capital. Phnom Phong is rich in natural resources, such as animals, forests, and has many tourist attractions, including the Oo Duk Waterfall, Ok Kraing Waterfall, Mae Asmi Waterfall, and Rung Neat Ta Waterfall, etc. To reach the top of the mountain, tourists must go through two stages. First, tourists must ride a horse-drawn carriage 1.5 kilometers from the community, then walk to the middle of the mountain or the first camp called "Puor Phnom" which is 660 meters high. Tourists are part of the people who have helped promote the Phnom Phong tourist area. They are happy and help promote it, while the people in this area also have a new job: guiding tourists to climb the mountain. Although the income from tourists is not much, the guides are happy with this job," said the head of the Phong Village Nature Protected Area Association, Mr. Tes Thorn. Currently, the number of tourists climbing the mountain is still there, but not as many as before due to some obstacles, such as the extremely hot weather that causes the water flowing through the Phong Mountain range to be scarce. In particular, some areas have waterfalls that tourists can use and enjoy. Mr. Meng Panha has over 7 years of experience and guides visitors to various mountain climbing routes in many areas, which attract tourists from all directions.
