Takeo Province : Phnom Tamao

Phnom Tamao is a mixed-use park with temples, forests, nature, and a large zoo in Cambodia. The area covers 1,200 hectares, which is called the Forest Protection Area. Of this 1,200 hectares, 1,200 hectares has been prepared by the Forestry Department for planting trees and a zoo with an area of ​​70 hectares. This 70 hectares includes 5 mountains: Phnom Tamao, Phnom Thmor Tui, Phnom Pdao Tui, Phnom Choi, and Phnom Bang. Among these 5 mountains, two mountains have ancient temples: Prasat Tamao (Phnom Tamao) and Prasat Thmor Tui (Phnom Thmor Tui). National and international visitors who visit the Phnom Tamao Zoo and Wildlife Rescue Center never miss seeing 6 rare species of animals, such as pythons, crocodiles, tigers, lions, elephants, and leopards. These animals are very popular and are on the top list of attractions that attract the most tourists to visit when visiting Phnom Tamao Park. The reason why these animals are the most popular was explained by Mr. Kuy Tong, Deputy Director of Phnom Tamao Zoo and Wildlife Rescue Center, because these animals are rare and some of them are also intelligent and can perform special skills for visitors. It is located in Trapeang Sap Village, Trapeang Sap Commune, Bati District, Takeo Province, 40 km. away on National Road No. 2 from Phnom Penh, turn right 5 km. on the road, taking 45 minutes by car.
