Phnom Penh : Preah Keo Morakot Temple
Preah Keo Morakot Temple is a Buddhist temple located south of the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The temple was built between 1885 and 1902 in the traditional Khmer style of wooden construction during the reign of King Norodom Sisowath Kosamak. "Preah Keo Morakot Temple" is a temple that houses many national treasures, including: Buddha statues made of gold, silver, bronze, and other precious objects, especially the Buddha statue made of emerald, which everyone calls Preah Keo Morakot, and the 14th century Buddha statue made of emerald during the reign of King Panchaya, which was taken away for a one-time ceremony in 1965 and was actually lost during the Cambodian War (1970-1979). Today, Wat Preah Keo Morokot is a popular tourist attraction and an important religious site for Cambodians. The Emerald Buddha (Thai: พระเการมะกาต) (Kh-pronoun: Preah Keo Morokot) is located in Sri Lanka (Sri Lanka) during the reign of King "Lankasareach" who placed a statue of "Preah Keo Morokot" in the Mek Kiri Mahavihara, which was a large Buddhist monastery, apparently a Buddhist college at that time. At that time, the King of Burma (now Myanmar) named "Anawrahta" (English: Anawrahta) made a diplomatic treaty with the King of Lanka. He requested a copy of the Tripitaka in Pali and another in Lanka. He also asked for a precious stone, the Emerald Buddha, as a memorial to Buddhism. The King of Lanka agreed to this request. When the transcription was finished, King Anuruddha sent the Pali version of the Triple Gem on one ship and ordered the Pali version of the Triple Gem along with the Emerald Buddha statue to be sent on another ship. He himself stayed on the ship carrying the Pali version of the Triple Gem. The two ships set sail from Lanka across the Indian Ocean towards Burma. However, when they reached the middle of the sea, the two ships encountered a storm. The ship carrying the Pali version of the Triple Gem along with the Emerald Buddha statue was swept away by the sea at the Golden Temple of the Khmer Empire in the south. The crew of the ship also brought the Traipetak Samrai and the Emerald Buddha to the Khmer king "Suryavarman I" in the city of "Yashodharapura". He was very happy to receive it in the royal palace in the year 1040 of the year
