Kep Province : Koh Tonsay
Koh Tonsay is located southeast of Kep City, 4.5 kilometers from the city. https://www.facebook.com/Kohtonsay This is a beautiful natural resort of the city, which is a gift from nature because there are two beaches with natural white sand that can be used as a place for swimming and having fun. The sea water has a long and shallow slope, and the sea water there is shallow because there are beaches surrounding the island and it has a gradual slope, which makes this island a place for swimming and having fun. Under the sea, there are corals, marine animals, and marine plants, which are conducive to exploring the diverse ecosystem. The name Koh Tonsay comes from the word "romsay" because when King Sakor Raja lost hope in fighting with his army and many of his followers scattered, he led the remaining people across the sea to an island in front of Kep City and disbanded there. By successive names, Koh Rumsay became Koh Amsay, Koh Ansay, and later Koh Tonsay until today. Koh Tonsay has an area of about 2 square kilometers. Originally a place for prisoners to rebuild their lives and to protect the island. The tourist infrastructure on Koh Tonsay was built during the socialist government, such as a horse-drawn carriage road around the island, thatched motels, restaurants made of corrugated iron, a water system, and other government buildings, etc. Nature and war over the past two decades have destroyed almost all of this infrastructure. Today, about seven families live on the island, engaged in small-scale sea fishing and tending coconut plantations. A round trip to the island and back runs $20 for the entire boat, so bring a few friends to split the cost. The round trip price is the same whether you stay for a few hours or two or three days. https://www.facebook.com/Kohtonsay
