Takeo Province : Phnom Da Cultural, Historical and Natural Tourist Resort

Phnom Da Cultural, Historical and Natural Tourist Resort: Phnom Da Temple is built on a 40-meter-high mountain peak. The temple faces north towards the capital of Nokor Phnom, which is located in Angkor Borei District today. The temple is built of bricks, sandstone and sandstone, in a square shape, each side is 12 meters and is 18 meters high. There are no stairs, there are 3 false doors and 1 real door on the north wall, and the thick walls are different from other temples. Phnom Da Temple does not have a fence (wall or rampart) around it. Inside, there is a preah Isora temple from the time the temple was built as a place of worship. The temple was built in the 6th century during the reign of King Rudravarman, the last king of the Phnom Kingdom, to dedicate it to Brahmanism. Because Phnom Da Temple was old since the 6th century, it was renovated during the reign of King Suryavarman I (11th century), noting the similar floor and diamond pillars and the style of the palace. In particular, the diamond pillar has been kept at the Angkor Borei Museum since 1999. Phnom Da Temple is a solitary temple.
