Pailin Province : Phnom Yat
Phnom Yat is a historical and cultural site in Pailin province, located along National Road 57 and near Wat Ratan Sophon, also known as Wat Kang Kang, which is the heart of Pailin province. Citizens and travelers who come and go to Pailin province often pass by the foot of Phnom Yat and admire some historical structures at the foot of Phnom Yat.
The land on this mountain is a natural mineral land with many valuable diamonds. On the top of Phnom Yat, there is a monastery called Wat Kiri Ratanaram Phnom Yat or Wat Phnom Yat and has many ancient and new buildings and monasteries, such as the small and large Preah Cholamoni Chetiya, the Lok Yaya Yat Monastery, the 21-meter-high Buddha statue defeating the devil, the 8-direction temple - Preah Si Ametei, the Preah Ko - Preah Keo Monastery, etc. At the foot of Yat Mountain, there is also the monastery of Lok Yaya Yat, especially the large monastery of Lok Yaya Yat on the east side of Yat Mountain, which has a statue of Lok Yaya Yat made of Preah Vihear mountain stone, carved by a Khmer artist in Santuk District, Kampong Thom Province, weighing more than 33 tons. Citizens, travelers, and tourists who come to relax in Pailin Province often come to burn incense and pray for happiness and prosperity from Lok Yaya Yat, as they believe that Lok Yaya Yat has a powerful spirit.
