Sophamit Waterfall

This waterfall area, sometimes called Lapak Khaon, Sophamit Waterfall or Preah Nimit, is located on the Cambodia-Laos border in Stung Treng Province, adjacent to Preah Vihear Province. It is an area where the Mekong River flows from the plateau into Cambodia, eroding large rocks, creating a unique spectacle on the territory of Cambodia-Laos.

Because of its fame, this waterfall has long been known to tourists, but the tourists who come here often are mostly local and nearby. According to traders who sell in this tourist area, they once told Cambodia News that tourists from afar often come only on major holidays, which means they have time off from work or study for a long time.
