Battambang Province : 101-year-old Khmer traditional house in Wat Kor village
An ancient house over 100 years old has become a tourist attraction in Wat Kor Village, Wat Kor Sangkat, Battambang City. Mr. Sambath Wirak, the fourth generation caretaker of the house after his aunt, Ms. Bunroeun, welcomed all visitors, especially the younger generation who love and understand the way of life of the Khmer people of the past. Wat Kor Village is a model village with the most ancient houses, built of wood, which are beautiful and the buildings reflect the traditions of the locals. The village is located in Wat Kor Village, Wat Kor Sangkat, Battambang City, along the Sangke River, about 2 kilometers south of the provincial capital, and is adjacent to Kampong Seima Village, a village rich in teal trees. Wat Kor Village is a village with Khmer-style housing and has had houses for a long time. Some of the houses were built in the early 20th century. Until today, the locals have adhered to the traditions and customs of the past.
