Banteay Meanchey Province : Phnom Preah tourist area
The Director of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Tourism Department said that the Phnom Preah Forest Community is an attractive mountain tourism potential area located in Thma Puok District, about 10 kilometers away on National Road 56A from the provincial capital. This mountain is rich in nearly 30 caves, the main caves are the Preah Cave (covered by a tree), the Ta Eisei Cave, the Kaam Kholch Cave, the Bay Sei Cave, etc. This place is a place of worship for both Hinduism and Buddhism. The Director of the Tourism Department said that Phnom Preah is a natural forest landscape area with a height of about 200 meters, ancient stairs to the top of the mountain, surrounded by mixed forests, forest shelters, and abundant wildlife. The area around the mountain is 1,200 hectares, which is (conservation forest). Currently, the potential of the Phnom Preah tourism area is three main ones: the first is a sacred place with ancient relics, ancient Khmer sacred objects, and a natural pool of water about 2 to 3 meters in size that never dries up; the second is a place of entertainment and worship; and the third is the potential of forests and wildlife. The Director of the Department of Tourism stated that currently, with the invitation to visit and see the potential and want to transform it into a beautiful, green and natural entertainment place, Madam Mao Malay Ke Kimyan has spent time leading the preparation of this place to become a natural mountain tourism resort. "Mount Preah is a natural eco-tourism site with forests, caves, and caves that tourists visit every day, and Madam Mao Malay Ke Kimyan has built many there, renovated and built a pagoda there, and made a road to enter Mount Preah." It should be noted that Banteay Meanchey province is a province with many historical, cultural, and resort sites that have the potential to attract both national and international tourists to visit, relax, and have fun at various tourist areas in the province. At the same time, the province has 28 hotels, 83 guesthouses, 06 home stays, 30 restaurants, and 78 cafeterias that are operating to provide warm and quality accommodation and food services to national and international visitors. The province has 1 tourist community and 13 tourist resorts, including: 2 cultural and historical resorts, 8 natural and historical processing resorts, 1 natural and historical processing resort, 1 eco-tourism resort, and 1 processing resort, which benefit local communities through sustainable development and help farmers and people in the area to have jobs and earn additional income.
