Oknha Sivlin Chhay Participates in Green Season Tourism Campaign Working Group Meeting Led by H.E. Huot Hak
On the morning of 7 May 2025, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, chaired a strategic meeting of the Green Season tourism task force at the Ministry of Tourism, with the participation of senior officials and key stakeholders from the tourism sector, totaling 68 participants.
The meeting focused on preparations to welcome domestic and international tourists during the Green Season, a national tourism campaign endorsed by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. The initiative repositions the traditional low season from April to October as the “Green Season,” highlighting Cambodia’s lush landscapes, cooler climate, peaceful atmosphere, and unique travel experiences during the rainy season.
The Minister emphasized that strong collaboration with the private sector and tourism content creators is essential to generate fresh ideas and strengthen marketing strategies, aiming to exceed visitor growth expectations during the Green Season.
He also noted that in the first three months of 2025, Cambodia welcomed nearly two million international tourists, representing an increase of more than 16 percent compared to the same period in 2024. This growth reflects Cambodia’s tourism potential, political stability, safety, warm hospitality, diverse cuisine, quality accommodation, and improving infrastructure.
To further enhance visitor experiences, the Minister encouraged the private sector to offer promotional pricing on accommodation and food services, improve hospitality standards, and creatively organize tourism events across provinces and cities. Through active cooperation among all stakeholders, the Green Season campaign is expected to contribute significantly to increased tourist arrivals throughout 2025.
