Members' meeting on the draft guidelines on fiscal obligations of Cambodia Tourism Association members
The Cambodia Tourism Association (CATA), under the leadership of its President, Oknha Chhay Sivlin, organized a members’ meeting on the afternoon of March 11, 2026. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the draft guideline on tax obligations for taxpayers operating as travel agents and tour operators, issued by the General Department of Taxation. This initiative aimed to provide members and businesses in the tourism sector with a clearer understanding of tax obligations, tax declarations, and compliance with relevant laws. It also created opportunities for direct engagement with legal and tax service providers, as well as building confidence in utilizing professional legal and tax services.
The event was successfully conducted, with active discussions on various challenges, gaps in information, and practical approaches to addressing issues in different situations. The meeting was attended by CATA leadership, active participation from association members, travel agencies, tour operators, and tourism businesses. Legal and tax service providers were also present to clearly explain and address concerns and questions raised by members in the tourism sector. There are plans to continue organizing similar meetings with relevant stakeholders, especially the tax authorities, to further enhance understanding.
